The Sandy Hook Promise

“My name is Madeline Keane and I am freshman at Wesleyan on the Women’s soccer team. I am from Newtown, CT and I am writing to you in regards to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Having such a tragedy happen in my home town has made me want to help by reaching out to the Wesleyan community of students and faculty. There is a support group called The Sandy Hook Promise (http://www.sandyhookpromise.org) that was founded by a group of Newtown citizens who felt compelled to honor the children and faculty that were murdered. They have “promised” to “choose love, belief and hope instead of anger,” an admirable reaction, which I want to rest of the world to promote. You can click the link and sign the promise to show your belief in having an open discussion about your individual beliefs towards mental health awareness and gun violence awareness. Any and all input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!”
Thanks again,
Madeline Keane
