When you arrive on campus this year and start your classes, we hope you’ll take advantage of both the people and resources in the library to help you with your research assignments. The library has a great program in place to help you do just that – we provide you with your own librarian, My Personal Librarian at Wes.
Your Personal Librarian will be able to show you how to navigate the catalog so you can find books (including e-books!) in one of our three libraries, locate journal articles online, and even borrow DVDs for those times when you need a break from your studies. Your Personal Librarian will also point you in the direction of a librarian subject specialist, who can meet with you regarding a specific assignment using the library’s Personal Research Session service.
To find out who your Personal Librarian is, all you need to do is login to your student portfolio and click on the My Personal Librarian link under “Library Resources.”
To help you get started, we’ve also put together some commonly asked library questions many new students at Wes ask, which you can find at http://ptully.blogs.wesleyan.edu/2012/07/27/library-qa-for-new-wesleyan-students-2012-13-edition/
